Ça sera probablement le 2.4L qui sera dans le modèle de base et le V6 de 3L dans la version la plus huppée.

The Regal has been slated for production in Oshawa starting in October, 2011, according to suppliers briefed on GM's product plans by Bo Anderson, the automaker's global purchasing chief. It is one of three new cars, including a revamped Chevrolet Camaro, GM promises to build in Oshawa by 2013 if it wins government support. GM says one of the two other fuel-efficient models will have a hybrid variant also built in Oshawa.

Les Buick sont très populaires en Chine. GM en a vendu plus de deux millions depuis 10 ans la bas, dont un million dans les derniers trois ans. C'est quand même pas mal.

J'aimerais bien qu'ils offrent les shifter sur les colones et des 50/50 bench en avant. Il a juste l'Impala qui a cette option je pense aujourd'hui. Un temps, tu pouvais avoir la Taurus, l'Intrepid et la Concorde. Ma grand-mere veut s'acheter un char mais elle veut le bench seat et juste l'Impala l'offre a ce que je sache!

J'ai lu que la Impala ne sera vraiment renouvelée qu'en 2013, alors qu'en 2011 ce ne sera qu'un facelift. Est-ce que j'ai eu la berlu ?

GM will build next Buick Regal in Canada

General Motors Co. said its all-new, 2011 Buick Regal sedan will be built in Oshawa, Ontario.


Production will begin in the first quarter of 2011, GM said in a statement today.

The Regal, based on the 2009 Opel Insignia, will join the Chevrolet Impala sedan and Chevrolet Camaro in Oshawa. The Insignia was voted 2009 “European Car of the Year” a year ago by automotive journalists.

GM said Oshawa has been running on overtime since June to keep up with demand for the Camaro. Production of the Camaro convertible also is set to begin in the first quarter of 2011.

“The new Regal gives Buick a modern performance sedan, and its production here in Oshawa is terrific news for our employees, the Canadian Auto Workers, dealers and suppliers,” Arturo Elias, president of General Motors of Canada, said in the statement.

General Motors, selling vehicles under the Buick, Chevrolet, Opel, Saab and Cadillac names, is the best-selling foreign automaker in China. In addition, Buick of China also sells the compact Excelle (based on the Daewoo Lacetti/Nubira), a five-door hatchback version called the HRV, and a modified version of the first generation Pontiac Montana minivan named the GL8. Chinese market Buicks are equipped with smaller engines than the same nameplate in the American market; in 2008 General Motors began importing these engines from China for use in the American Chevrolet Equinox and Pontiac Torrent.[28]

In June 2005, Buick announced that it would market the Australian Holden Statesman in China as the Buick Royaum. Buick previously marketed the subcompact Sail, sourced from GM's Asian operations and based on the Opel Corsa B, until 2005. Since then, Shanghai GM has replaced it with the Chevrolet Sail (a rebadged Opel Corsa). Buick has stated that it expects China to become its second largest market.

For the 2006 model year, Buick debuted the Chinese version of the LaCrosse sedan. The only differences are exterior design, different engine choices, and a facelifted interior. It is positioned above the Regal but below the Royaum.

In April 2007, Shanghai-GM announced the Buick Park Avenue, for the Chinese market only. The vehicle is based on the Holden Statesman, with engines manufactured in Australia.

Buick has sold over two million vehicles in China. The first million took eight years, the second came in at only three years.
