Fiat 695 Tributo Ferrari

Ferrari and Fiat's performance division Abarth have partnered together for a surprise Frankfurt Motor Show unveiling — a limited edition Fiat 500 they'll call the 695 Tributo Ferrari. So, um, when did Ferrari become Fiat's new tuning shop?
The car aims to bring new meaning to the term hot hatch. For starters, the 695 will come in the traditional Ferrari color of Scuderia Red and performance gets boosted with a 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol/gasoline engine dialed up to 180 HP mated to an F1-style 6-speed transmission with paddle-shift function. Suspension tuning will compliment the increase in power and a set of red Brembo brakes will sit behind the 17-inch alloy wheels made special for the occasion, referencing classic Ferrari design.
A bigger issue is what this means for the Ferrari brand to be putting their name on a Fiat 500. Is this a watering down of the Italian Stallion brand or is this, like a Ferrari-branded Segway, just a marketing gimmick. Or, worse yet, is this a marketing gimmick that'll unintentionally water down the brand?
Fiat 500 tunée par Ferrari. J'adore, mais maudit que c'est inutile. Imaginez le prix... au moins 3-4 fois une 500 Abarth? Dans mon livre, un vrai hot hatch, c'est abordable.
J'commence à croire que Ferrari fait plus de cash en prêtant son nom à toutes sortes de cossins qu'en vendant des chars. Enzo doit se retourner dans sa tombe, à une vitesse qui approche du redline.

Btw, Ferrari appartient à FIAT...
Pis pour la grosseur, Clarkson fit dedans, même qu'il adore cette voiture. Et elle est plus spacieuse que la Mini.

+1 C'est ce que j'allais dire! Si ça avait été si difficile d'embarquer et débarquer, il ne se serait pas gêner pour le faire savoir!

Ouais chais bien, et c'est pas nouveau la collaboration entre les 2... mais franchement, mettre le nom Ferrari là-dessus... Juste un prétexte pour la vendre plus cher que si c'était, disons, une "vulgaire" Abarth avec les même specs.
La compagnie se prostitue en vendant la license de son nom à qui mieux mieux: laptop Ferrari, parfum Ferrari, Segway Ferrari, cellulaire Ferrari, souliers Ferrari, GPS Ferrari, Camera Ferrari, Lecteur MP3... même une poussette pour bébé.

The suspension and braking systems have been strengthened to cope with the extra power; 284mm Brembo discs with four-piston calipers provide stopping power.
It also has performance tyres, which are fitted to 17-inch alloy wheels that ape a Ferrari design, and a variable back-pressure exhaust that changes the engine sound above 3000rpm.
