General Motors Co. will produce the Cadillac Converj plug-in concept car it introduced earlier this year at the Detroit auto show, The Detroit News reported today.
The production of the Converj was part of a presentation made to GM’s board of directors last week, The News said, citing unnamed sources familiar with the production plan. GM has not set a production date, the newspaper said.
A Cadillac spokeswoman declined comment.
The future of the Converj concept had been in limbo. The vehicle uses the same technology as GM’s Chevrolet Volt plug-in electric vehicle, due for introduction late next year.
